Almada Innovation District: Advancing Knowledge & Sustainability with Egas Moniz

The President of Egas Moniz School of Health & Science, José João Mendes, as President of the General Assembly of the Almada Innovation District Association, led a strategic meeting reinforcing the district’s transformative vision: to turn Almada into a hub of knowledge, innovation, and social responsibility.

This unique initiative in Almada, Portugal, unites universities, companies, and research centers to develop an innovative urban ecosystem based on “live–work–play–care.”

Egas Moniz plays a pivotal role in health research and community care, promoting health literacy and reducing inequalities.

The project aligns with United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 and the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050, through innovative solutions in energy, mobility, and urban planning.
