Catarina Batista and Nuno Coelho @ Portuguese Society of Pharmacology Meeting

Two integrated members of CiiEM, Catarina Batista and Nuno Coelho, participated in the 55th Portuguese Society of Pharmacology Meeting, held at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Porto, Portugal, from February 5-7, 2025. Hosted by the Department of Biomedicine, the event also included the 43rd Clinical Pharmacology Meeting and 24th Toxicology Meeting.

With 10-minute oral presentations followed by discussions, the conference fostered scientific dialogue and skill development in pharmacology and toxicology.

Catarina Batista contributed to the debate with her presentation, "Heavy Metal(loid)s and Iberian Ungulates – A One Health Perspective," highlighting the impact of heavy metals on animal and human health.

Her presentation reinforced the importance of the One Health approach in addressing environmental and public health challenges. The event provided a key platform for knowledge exchange in pharmacology and toxicology
