Abstract | One of the most used drugs to control blood pressure, captopril, has the side effects of the sulfhydride group. A process for obtaining peptides from jellyfish with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitory activity, free of toxins and sulfhydryl groups, is presented. The activity of the peptide extracts corresponds to 10% of that promoted by captopril.

Abstract | Medusas are seasonal animals, they only occur in summer. according to the conservation procedures already described, the useful life of stored medusa does not exceed 12 months. The transformation of stored medusa into an edible product uses physical-chemical methods lasting more than 1 hour. A physical freezing process is presented which does not involve the inclusion of any additive and which leads to a product shelf life of more than 2 years. An exclusively physical cooking process is presented, which lasts less than 15 minutes.
