Within the Biochemistry component, the Lab aims are to study:

- Salivary biomarkers for systemic and oral disease

- Food antioxidant properties

- Inflammatory biomarkers in disease

- Effect of nutritional interventions in disease

- Effect of different cooking process in glycaemia parameters

 

Within the Microbiology component, the Lab aims are to study:

- Multidrug-resistant isolates 

- Antibacterial and antibiofilm activities of new compounds 

- Oral biofilms and the oral microbiome
